Angler Recognition Coordinator

Description: 
The Angler Recognition Coordinator will manage the IGFA’s angler recognition programs, including world records, trophy clubs and slam clubs, and develop new recognition programs that increase the IGFA’s relevance to recreational anglers around the world.  This position will serve as the first point of contact for inquiries about IGFA’s International Angling Rules and angler recognition programs from IGFA members and the recreational angling community.  Other responsibilities include content development for IGFA’s online and print media and budget development.  This position requires strong knowledge of both conventional and fly fishing techniques and tackle configurations, excellent customer service skills, strong writing and verbal communication skills and the ability to meet deadlines.

Description of Responsibilities:
Coordinates all procedures associated with processing IGFA world records, slams and trophy clubs

  • Angler recognition program data entry
  • Line and scale testing
  • Application review

Responds to incoming correspondence related to IGFA angling rules, angler recognition programs and record archives. Operates and maintains the IGFA Angler Recognition Database

  • Data entry
  • Creating and executing data queries
  • Processing reports and record lists for internal and external publications

Coordinates the selection processes for the various IGFA awards

  • Assist in the development of the annual awards structure
  • Assist in the execution of the annual awards event

Content development /Editorial

  • Develop content for IGFA various printed, online and social platforms, as well as for external publications

Assist in fiscal oversight of the IGFA Angler Recognition Department

  • Review of monthly profit/loss statements
  • Development of annual budget for the Angler Recognition Department

Educational Requirements:

  • BA or BS required, preferably in marine or freshwater science, public policy, marketing, communications or a related field.

Experience and Skills:

  • Knowledge and understanding of the international recreational fishing community, fishing tackle and techniques
  • Strategic vision for developing angler recognition programs in support of the IGFA’s  mission
  • Ability to collect, evaluate and analyze data in logical formats for presentation in reports, documents and other written, audio or visual materials
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively  as part of the IGFA team
  • Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments
  • Ability to communicate effectively in verbal and written form
  • Ability to interact with IGFA staff and customers in a professional and positive manner
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Access
  • Knowledge of Word Press or other web-related software is a plus
  • Ability to develop and maintain a strict processing schedule and meet rapid deadlines.
